Enter the Metaverse: What can you do with Crypto Art

Peacock by majorart

I often get the question what can I do with my Crypto Art?

The question is rather fascinating because what do people do with traditional art they bought in the gallery?

There are basically two possibilities what you can do with art bought in a gallery.

You can look at your traditional art by hanging it on your wall at home. The same thing you can do with crypto art.

Or you can store it somewhere in a vault.

Most traditional Art is stored away somewhere in a vault.

And here the possibilities with the traditional art end. And the crypto art starts to shine.

Instead of only showing one piece at a time I can actually show several in the same frame. For example, one in the morning for your morning routine and one in the evening to get into a relaxed mood. You can even change the art every hour, depending on the weather or the value of your stocks account.

This is possible with traditional art, in a digital frame too, but you can only show a digital copy of your traditional art with crypto art I always show the original and I can prove it. And some of my crypto art can come with motion and sounds.

I do not know about you, but I spend a lot of time in front of all kinds of screens. My laptop screen my mobile screen etc. so it naturally makes sense to have my art with me and look at it or show it to others on these screens.

I keep it online on websites like the https://gallerist.collectorshub.art/gallery

to let others enjoy the art. And it is so much fun to just scroll through art and enjoy the creativity of various artists. One of my biggest passions is to scroll for hours through DADA’s conversations at https://dada.nyc/visual_conversations, whenever you get into one of these conversations from artists all around the world you enter a whole new universe of ideas and inspiration.

This variety, diversity and accessibility is hardly achievable in traditional art.

“Yes, you can still make a screen-shot of the digital artwork, but now, thanks to Blockchain, it will be like making a photocopy of a dollar bill. The value is in the token associated with the digital art” DADA.nyc

The Metaverse starts here

I hope my dear reader I did not lose you yet because now we step into the metaverse. The future of art.

The metaverse is a platform independent, permissionless and open virtual reality. It means that you can join any virtual reality game or land with your avatar and whenever you change into another game or land your avatar will stay the same including your cloth and other wearables you designed for your virtual existence.

At first the beauty of this is not easily comprehended but if you take a minute and think about it or even better explain this to a teenager or even a kid. They immediately get it and love it.

For us non teenagers it is just the perfect matching place to exhibit crypto art.

There are hundreds of galleries built in the metaverse. And thousands more are constantly built, rebuild and newly shaped.

A few examples from cryptovoxels.com. All lands and galleries can be visited with or without vr glasses. Here also a short user guide to the galleries below. When you are inside the gallery click once with your mouse then you can freely move the view. Walk with the arrows. Press esc to get your mouse back.

Zonked Gallery

Switch 16

Makersplace

Artwall

B.20 Monument (beeple exhibition)

MVB Gallery

There are other lands with galleries like

https://decentraland.org/

https://somniumspace.com/

or https://www.sandbox.game

I prefer https://www.cryptovoxels.com/ for this article because it lets people enter without any web3 wallet or any other registration.

I would like to stop here and let you wonder off into the metaverse and crypto art. It is a lot to take in and it gets more and more geeky but if you take the leap and jump into the metaverse you will see that the future is shaped here.

The METAVERSE is still in an early stage, has a lot of edges that have to be ironed out and a lot of other open questions but it is here to stay.

And always remember my friends of the meme, crypto art is a lot of fun too.
